Short answer

Nine AI and technology events stand out between now and April 2027, from Oracle AI World (Oct 25–28) to Google Cloud Next (Apr 13–15). Choose by who buys from you and whether you need partners, executives, technical evaluators or product and telecom buyers, then research the participant list before you register.

Before an AI purchase reaches procurement, the questions behind it get tested in public: which models sit underneath the product, where the data goes, what it connects to and who else already builds on it. Conference sessions, partner pavilions and sponsor lineups are one of the few places where all of that is visible at once, which is why many business development teams treat AI and technology events as research and partnership tools, not just places to collect badge scans.

This guide is for teams at AI and machine-learning companies, SaaS and enterprise software providers, cloud and infrastructure vendors and cybersecurity businesses. It explains what different kinds of AI events are for, profiles nine upcoming events with confirmed dates, and shows how to choose between them and turn what you learn into conversations, whether or not you ever take a booth.

Why AI and technology events matter for business development

A good event does four jobs for a business development team, and only one of them involves a booth.

  • It shows where the market is organising itself. Track names, session titles and sponsor tiers reveal which problems buyers and vendors expect to dominate the next year, such as AI governance, inference cost or securing AI agents.
  • It makes an ecosystem visible in one place. A platform conference gathers a vendor’s customers, implementation partners and software partners together. Reading who sponsors and who exhibits is a fast way to map integrations and alliances.
  • It gives a first message a reason to exist. An email that refers to a session, a launch or a shared ecosystem is easier to answer than one that opens with a product description.
  • It works as low-cost market research. Exhibitor lists show how competitors position themselves and which adjacent vendors are investing in the same buyers, even if you never leave the office.

Confirmed facts and recommendations. Event names, dates and venues in this guide come from organiser pages and were checked on October 22, 2026. Advice on how to use events is our recommendation, not a promise of results. Organisers move dates, so confirm on the official site before you book travel.

Vendor-run or independent: the split that changes your plan

The most useful distinction is between events run by a single vendor and events run by an independent organiser. At a vendor-run conference every session is framed by one company’s products; Oracle states that all sessions at AI World focus on Oracle products and technologies. That makes such events strong for partner and ecosystem work if you build on or integrate with the platform, and a narrow hunting ground if you do not. Independent summits and trade shows are broader, but you compete harder for attention and the buyers are less pre-sorted.

How to choose the right event for your goals

Attendance size is a weak first filter. Start with the outcome you need and work backwards to the event.

Three checks before you commit budget

  1. Is your buyer in the room? Compare job titles and company types with your ideal customer profile instead of trusting headline attendance.
  2. Are your competitors and partners there? Look at last edition’s sponsors and exhibitors. Heavy competitor presence confirms relevance but also means you will compete for attention; missing partners suggest the ecosystem is elsewhere.
  3. Does the date fit your sales cycle? An event that lands after your buyers’ budgets are set is better for building relationships than for closing near-term deals.

Illustrative scenario. A startup selling model-monitoring software to cloud platform teams might skip the largest show on the calendar and start with AWS re:Invent or NVIDIA GTC, where both its buyers and its integration partners are easier to find. A consultancy implementing enterprise AI for European corporates would weight Adopt AI more heavily. This is a hypothetical example, not a client case.

If you cannot justify a booth

Exhibiting is the most expensive way to take part, and rarely the only one. Teams with smaller budgets often get most of the value from a lighter approach:

  • Attend for the sessions and the hallways. A conference pass puts you in the same rooms as buyers and partners without the cost of a stand.
  • Send two people with different jobs. One covers sessions and takes notes on themes; the other holds pre-arranged meetings.
  • Host something small nearby. A partner dinner or roundtable for ten relevant guests can outperform a booth for a narrow audience.
  • Use the research even if you stay home. Participant, sponsor and speaker lists are useful for planning outreach whether or not you travel.

Turn event research into business development

Most of the value arrives before and after the event. This sequence works for almost any show above.

  1. Map the participant landscapeList who exhibits, sponsors and speaks, then sort the names into competitors, partners and prospects. The sorting alone often changes which event you pick.
  2. Read the programme as market researchNote the themes that repeat across tracks and session titles. If several mention agent governance or inference cost, your messaging should address those topics in the buyer’s own words.
  3. Build an account list around the eventMatch participants to your target accounts and choose two or three roles per account, such as a head of data, a security lead or a partnerships manager. Event-specific contact data can speed this up: see VisitorsList’s event data and contact lists and data enrichment and appending services, and our explainer on what an attendee list is and how to use it.
  4. Give every message a reason tied to the eventRefer to a session, a launch or a shared ecosystem, and ask for a short conversation rather than a demo. Starting four to six weeks ahead leaves time to reply before calendars fill.
  5. Follow up in two wavesContact the people you met within a day or two. A week or two later, write to relevant participants you did not meet with something useful from the event, such as a short note on a theme you heard repeated.

What to look for in last edition’s participant list

  • Company types, not just names. A list dominated by integrators tells a different story from one dominated by end customers.
  • The seniority mix. Executive-heavy lists suit account-based outreach; practitioner-heavy lists suit developer-led or product-led approaches.
  • Repeat sponsors. Companies that sponsor year after year are committed to the category, and may be partners, competitors or both.
  • Gaps. A missing segment can be an opening or a sign that your buyers are elsewhere. Check before you assume.

Compliance note. Use business contact data only, keep outreach relevant to the person’s role and follow the rules that apply in their region, such as GDPR, CCPA and CASL. Make opting out easy. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

Where to start this quarter

Pick one event from the list above and write down the three roles you most want to meet there. Then look at who exhibits and sponsors. That single list will tell you faster than most reports whether the event deserves your budget, and it becomes the first draft of an outreach plan. When you are ready to buy contact data for a segment, see our guide to cybersecurity company contact lists, which sets out a checklist that applies to most B2B lists. Selling into other industries? Frequently asked questions

Which AI conference should a B2B software company attend first?

Start with the event where your buyer’s role is most concentrated. Enterprise summits suit executive conversations, platform conferences suit partner-led selling, and technical conferences suit products sold to developers and infrastructure teams.

Do I need a booth to get value from an AI or technology event?

No. You can meet people in sessions, at partner events and through meetings arranged beforehand. Researching who exhibits, sponsors and speaks is also useful if you never travel.

What is the difference between a vendor-run conference and an independent trade show?

A vendor-run conference is organised by one company and centres on its products, which suits partners and ecosystem players. An independent show covers many vendors and topics, so it offers more breadth but less pre-sorted buyer intent.

How early should I start outreach before an event?

Four to six weeks before the event is a sensible starting point, while schedules are still being built. Short reminders closer to the date and a structured follow-up afterwards help.
